Rifkin laughs at early man
By Joshua Tyler Oct 11, 2005, 14:58 GMT
He’s written about toys, kid superheroes, and even He-Man, but now Adam Rifkin is looking for laughs in the world of prehistoric man.
The Hollywood Reporter says Rifkin has written a script for a movie he calls ‘Homo Erectus’. It’s a prehistoric comedy about a philosophical caveman named Ishbo. The unusually bright knuckle-dragger longs for a life beyond sticks, stones, and uncooked meat. The rest of his tribe dismisses his ideas as those of a raving loon, while Ishbo yearns for the cavegirl of his dreams from a distance.
Rifkin is writing the script, but he’ll also direct and star, presumably as Ishbo. The project is moving ahead quickly, casting has already begun in Austin and Los Angeles.
Adam’s already written and sold two other scripts this year. He had a hand in writing the upcoming superhero parody ‘The Return of Zoom’ as well as a new version of ‘He-Man’. ‘Zoom’ is due out in 2006, ‘He-Man’ is currently still in pre-production.
