Emmerich destroys our history

Having utterly destroyed the modern world at least twice now, director Roland Emmerich is off to destroy our history next.

Emmerich, director of structure destroying blockbusters like ‘Independence Day’, and ‘The Day After Tomorrow’ has signed on to direct the film ’10,000 B.C’ for Sony, according to The Hollywood Reporter. They’re describing the film as a prehistoric epic about the tribal life of early modern man. Here’s hoping disaster master Roland can at least find a way to work in a rampaging, hut-crushing mastodon.

The film’s original script was written nearly a decade ago by Emmerich and his partner Harold Kloser. Now that the project is finally moving, it’s being rewritten by John Orloff, who penned the acclaimed HBO miniseries “Band of Brothers”.
