Tony Scott doesn't have Deja Vu
By Joshua Tyler Oct 5, 2005, 14:19 GMT
Tony Scott, director of the upcoming fashion model turned bounty hunter movie ‘Domino’ had been lined up to make ‘Deja Vu’ his next feature film. Variety reports that Scott has recently abandoned that project due to logistical and scheduling concerns.
The problem is that like several upcoming movies, ‘Deja Vu’ was supposed to shoot in New Orleans, a location which figured prominently in its story. Katrina has thrown off their schedule and skyrocketed the cost of the pic, which was originally estimated to roll in at an already hefty $75 million.
The Jerry Bruckheimer produced time-travel thriller will continue forward anyway, though now somewhat behind schedule. Scott’s departure comes on the same day the movie was originally scheduled to begin shooting.
‘Deja Vu’ stars Denzel Washington as an FBI agent traveling back in time to stop a woman from being murdered. He gets too involved and find himself falling in love with her in the process.
