The Flash runs slower

Rumors about an upcoming movie version of the comic book speedster ‘The Flash’ have been swirling around for months now. The project exists, and is being pushed by ‘Blade: Trinity’ writer/director David Goyer.
Since he first started talking about the film, there’s only been one person in his mind to play Flash, and that’s his ‘Blade: Trinity’ leading man Ryan Reynolds. But it’s been several months now, is ‘Flash’ really happening?
IESB spoke with Reynolds, who’s been out promoting his new movie ‘Waiting’. He doesn’t’ sound very hopeful. In fact, it sounds like getting the movie made may take divine intervention. “Yeah, there are so many issues with that, that's a humongous movie, if it does go I am sure it has to go through all the appropriate channels. I imagine God is financing it I don't even know,” says Reynolds. Financing may be a little tough, but he says Goyer is still into doing it, “I don't know what it would cost to do that movie but it's all that sort of stop motion stuff it would just be a huge feat but it something I am excited to do and I know David Goyer's really into it so. Yeah, yeah, hopefully.”
If a feature film version of ‘The Flash’ does happen, it won’t be any time soon according to the former ‘Van Wilder’ star. He says, “by the time they get it made no (laughing) I'll be a fossil I'll be a golden girl.” How fast can Flash move with a walker?
With or without ‘The Flash’ Ryan Reynolds isn’t hurting for work. ‘Waiting’ opens in theaters around the country this weekend, and before the year is over he’ll also show up in a fat suit for the movie ‘Just Friends.’ Next year, he’s got four other films on his schedule, ‘Ride Along’, ‘Horrible Bosses’, ‘Blowback’, and ‘Chaos Theory’. Reynolds may not exceed the speed of sound, but his career is taking off anyway.
