No remake for Evil Dead

We've been hearing for some time now that director Sam Raimi might be planning a remake of his own film, 'Evil Dead'. The idea sounds a little weird, but he's been adamant that the project is definitely moving forward. In spite of that, suddenly things are seeming a lot less certain.
According to Dark Horizons, cult-hero Ted Raimi, brother of Sam Raimi, was recently asked about the proposed remake. His response was something of a shocker, "Yes, I have this to say about it: there won't be one as far as I know. That's all I know. I mean there might be, there might be one but as far as I can tell there isn't. Nothing's going on with it at the moment"
So far, there's been no real confirmation one way or another from Sam or his production company Ghost House Pictures. Hold off till then before taking Ted's word as final.
