After racking up an impressive per-screen-average last weekend in limited release, Tim Burton's 'Corpse Bride' was the odds on favor to blow the doors off this weekend's number one, U.S. box office spot as it expanded into wide release. Instead, the film proved that a high per-screen-average doesn’t mean much when you're only playing in five theaters. 'Corpse Bride' managed a solid $20 million and the number two spot in its first wide release weekend, but couldn't compete with the power of Jodie Foster's new lost child thriller 'Flightplan'. * denotes new release
