Strikingly beautiful Australian actress Radha Mitchell is reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of Hong Kong director Andrew Lau's first English-language film 'The Flock'. Production Weekly reports that if she signs, she'll join a cast that already includes Claire Danes and Richard Gere. Gere stars in the thriller as Errol, a public safety department employee who monitors registered sex offenders. Described as a maverick, Errol ignores beaurocratic procedure in favor of using more direct methods to keep his "flock" of perverts from acting on their dark compulsions. The film picks up with Errol being forced into retirement. He has 18 days to train his replacement, played by Claire Danes while tracking down a kidnapped young woman. Where Radha Mitchell will fit into all of that is uncertain, but after key roles in critically acclaimed films like 'Melinda and Melinda' and 'Finding Neverland' in recent years, her Hollywood profile is definitely rising. Independent film seems to be her thing these days, and Lau's movie fits right in with the types of movies she's been exploring. 'The Flock' is being filmed from a script written by Hans Bauer and Craig Mitchell, look for production to start shooting in Mexico this November.
