Edgar Wright joins Them

Zombie-loving ‘Shaun of the Dead’ director Edgar Wright’s next job will be working for Universal, on an adaptation of the Jon Ronson book “Them”.

Not to be confused with the ant-attack movie ‘Them!’ from the 50’s, Ronson’s book is a comedic exploration of extremists, one woman’s journey to unmask the secret rulers of the world.

Variety reports that the Universal pictures film will be scripted by Mike White, and produced in tandem by Tenacious D mega-rocker Jack Black, Nira Park, and White. Mike White’s last project was the hilarious, Jack Black fronted film ‘School of Rock’, and since then his writing skills have been in high demand. He’s currently working on ‘Nacho Libre’, the story of a priest who moonlights as a wrestler, as well as producing and directing the upcoming film ‘Scott Pilgrim’s Precious Little Life’.
