Van Wilder becomes sterile

Former ‘Blade: Trinity’ and ‘Van Wilder’ leading man Ryan Reynolds’ star is still rising. According to Variety, he’s been tapped to headline the upcoming comedy ‘Chaos Theory’ for Castle Rock Entertainment and Warner Independent Pictures.

Though it’s listed as a comedy, if this happened in real life you wouldn’t think it was very funny. The film is described as a story within a story, in which an obsessively organized man (Reynolds) finds out that he’s sterile, and that his daughter was fathered by his best friend.

The concept is promising, especially with a bona fide talent like the freshly bearded Reynolds on board as their lead. The charismatic comedic actor has given consistently great performances, even in bad movies like ‘Blade 3’.

‘Chaos’ will be directed by Marcos Siega, a television turned movie director whose last project ‘Underclassman’ came and went from theaters a couple of weeks ago with barely a whisper. The script is written by Daniel Taplitz, writer and director of ‘Breakin’ All the Rules’.
