Morpheus tells A Landlord's Tale

Laurence Fishburne doesn’t need big money movie studios, he options his own projects. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he’s picked up the rights Gammy L. Singer's novel "A Landlord's Tale.”

The book is the story of a man named Amos Brown, a shady, smooth-talking character who tries to go straight when he inherits a pair of Harlem brownstones. Going straight isn’t easy though, and things soon go awry when he finds a skeleton in the basement of one of his new properties and gets into trouble with a local West Indian drug lord. The role sounds well suited to Fishburne, and it seems likely that he’ll take on the part of Amos.

It’ll be up to him, since he’s developing the property through his own Cinema Gypsy Prods. Cinema Gypsy just completed work on ‘Akeelah and the Bee’ for Lions Gate films.
