Kumar goes to Great Britain

Burgeoning star Ryan Reynolds has talked before about the possibility of a sequel to ‘Van Wilder’ happening without him, but no one really took him seriously. Well now it’s happening, with Reynolds being replaced in the lead role by his ‘Van Wilder’ costar Kal Penn.

Coming Soon reports that the movie, currently titled ‘Van Wilder Deux: The Rise of Taj’ is already in pre-production with Myriad Pictures. For the sequel, Penn’s sidekick character Taj from the first film, arrives at Oxford University and shows the stiff Brits a thing or two about partying.

Kal Penn’s career has really started to take off since his stint in ‘Van Wilder’, due in large part to his hilarious starring role in the stoner film ‘Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle’. Kal can next be seen in the upcoming movie ‘Superman Returns’ in 2006.
