David Slade to direct horror 30 Days of Night

The film is based on Steve Niles\' graphic novel of the same name.
David Slade has been hired by Columbia Pictures to direct horror movie 30 Days of Night.
The Hollywood Reporter says the film is based on Steve Niles' graphic novel and set in a sleepy Alaska town called Barrow.
Due to the town's northerly latitude the sun does not rise for 30 days of the year. During this time an evil comes into the town from the frozen wastes, bringing the residents to their knees. Only the Sheriff and Deputy, who are husband and wife, can save the town.
