British filmmaker Danny Boyle in Mumbai

Mumbai, July 6 (IANS) British filmmaker Danny Boyle, who has made acclaimed docudramas such as 'Trainspotting', 'Shallow Graves' and '28 Days Later', sneaked into Mumbai last month to adapt Vikas Swaroop's satire on consumerism entitled 'Q&A'.
Swaroop's bestseller is about a young Mumbaiite who wins a fortune on a Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) styled game show.
Boyle, who is currently riding the crest of the global box office with his sci-fi thriller 'Sunshine', kept his visit so hush-hush that no one in the city had any inkling.
The auteur cinema maestro auditioned the 'Mera Pehla Pehla Pyar' star Ruslaan to play the lead role of Ram Mohammad Thomas in the adaptation and has almost finalised the young actor for the part.
'I can't deny it. But I'm not supposed to talk about it,' Ruslaan told IANS. 'But what an opportunity! The first thing I did was to watch 'Trainspotting' and 'Shallow Graves' all over again. Wow!'
The British director apparently liked Ruslaan and has asked him to keep his date diary free early next year.
