Aishwarya going extra miles to promote 'Provoked'

By Subhash K. Jha Sep 10, 2006, 12:53 GMT

Mumbai, Sep 10 (IANS) Producer J. Murli Manohar, who plans to release Jagmohan Mundhra's 'Provoked' soon, is very pleased with his leading lady Aishwarya Rai.

'Even though Aishwarya is not dubbing for the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film, she'll dub the Hindi version for sure,' Manohar told IANS.

'She will come to London on Sep 18 to promote our film. Considering how busy she is, we're very lucky to get her down here to address the British media,' said Manohar.

He's extremely confident of Aishwarya's performance. She plays a Punjabi woman who kills her husband after being at the receiving end of constant mental and physical torture.

The film about domestic violence is based on true story.

'Whenever and wherever we've shown 'Provoked', audiences have unanimously agreed that this is Aishwarya's best performance to date.

'We could've released the film internationally first. But we wanted all the Indian versions to be ready simultaneously to beat piracy,' said Manohar who's currently shooting a Kannada love story in London with Dhyaan and Sharmila.

'It's the first Kannada film to be shot in England,' he said.

Give news on how Bollywood is making inroads in the West. How and which of our artistes are drawing attention in the West. Penetrating the Western market is of great economic consequence and also projects india abroad. Role of Aishwarya Rai in this regard can also be highlighted. I read that her longine ads and Loreal ads are being telecast in American and Canadian Tv and her images are seen in Billboard in diverse caountries fromCentral America to korea. Such news about our actors and cinematic staff should be highlighted to give inspiration to others to shine outside India .
