I admit it! I am a card-carrying member of the Star Wars Geek Club. I am not ashamed of it either. First lets get one thing straight. I have a college education, a job, family, and friends as probably every other Star Wars fan. Shocker, I know, but it’s true. I also have an extensive collection of action figures and can recite much of the dialogue from any of the five Star Wars films.
I can remember six years ago shortly after the release of The Phantom Menace, wondering and debating about the events of Episode III; how would sweet little Ani turn into the galaxies most feared villain? What would the circumstances be surrounding the birth of Luke and Leia? And what would be the fate of Padme. It is hard to believe that six years have gone by and hear I am on the eve of having all my questions answered.
Anakin goes to the Dark Side
I was not born when Star Wars, or A New Hope as it is known now, was first released. I had only heard and read about any of the films. In 1997 my cousin, who I think was born a fan, asked me if I wanted to see The Empire Strikes Back Special Edition in the theater with him. I said what the hell, I didn’t know a death star from a wookie, but went anyway. Two hours later I was a fan. Thus began my obsession will any and all things Star Wars.In the summer of 2003 I was unbelievably fortunate and won a contest on StarWars.com where the grand prize was a trip to Sydney, Australia and a visit to the set of Episode III. Well you can imagine my excitement, and of course I cannot discuss anything I saw for fear that my unborn children may be taken away. Well not really, but you get the idea. What I can say is that it was one of the most unique and exciting experiences in my life. For me being such a huge fan being there when the final Star Wars film ever was made was awesome.
Obi Wan Kenobi
For those of you not wanting to go to the dark side and be spoiled, don’t worry - there will be no spoilers here. I was 100% spoiled for Attack of the Clones, even knowing some of the dialogue. In my opinion, being spoiled ruined the experience for me, so I was and am still spoiler free for Episode III. I have seen the trailers and read everything on StarWars.com, but that is it. When the trailer debuted, I was pleasantly surprised at how much of the plot I did not know. I am a walking advertisement for Lucasfilm’s fight against copyright infringement.

We all know the main plotline of Revenge of the Sith. The Clone Wars have raged on for years, the republic is crumbling, Chancellor Palpatine's power in steadily growing, and the mystery of the sith is beginning to reveal itself. Anakin Skywalker returns from fighting and learns that he is to be a father. Anakin is growing more disgruntled with the teachings of the Jedi. He relies more on the wisdom of the Chancellor. He eventually choose to give in to his anger and feelings of hate and is turned to the dark side. His once master, Obi Wan Kenobi, makes once last ditch effort to save Anakin. Instead of dredging up every spoiler out there, here are the 10 questions I want answered and what I want to see in Episode III.
* The fate of Padme Will she die or will she be stricken with some terminal illness? I personally would be upset if her storyline was not ended and wrapped up by the end of the film.
* Why Leia remembers her mother and Luke doesn’t? I guess that depends on the answer to the above question.
* How and why Yoda comes to live on Dagobah?
* The moment Obi Wan brings baby Luke to Owen and Beru.
* The climatic moment when Obi Wan defeats Anakin in the duel and sends him over the edge into the lava.
* The revelation of Chancellor’s Palpatine’s other side.
* The massacre of the Jedi Knights and temple.
* The death of Mace Windu
* The first appearance of a fully armored Darth Vader.
* A token cameo appearance of a young Han Solo. I know this is a big long shot, but it would be cool.
Padme Amidala
What do you want to see from Episode III? (Be mindful of people who are not reading spoilers) Leave a comment at the bottom of the page.I know what everyone says about the prequel trilogy. They can’t hold a candle to the original trilogy. The acting is bad. The story is bad. Now I agree that they are not Oscar material, but is that really what you would expect from them. I think that people are expecting to feel the same feelings they felt when they first saw Star Wars as a kid. That can’t happen. Star Wars was such a groundbreaking film in cinema history. Today there is any number of blockbusters released with dazzling special effects. Since that every film that uses special effects has striven to live up to Star Wars. No other film today could recreate the feelings you felt when you first saw the Death Star explode, the twin suns of Tatooine, or when you once thought that the Imperial Star Destroyer would go on forever. I know I will go into the film expecting to have a fun enjoyable experience, nothing else. Since when did going to the movies have to be more than that?
General Grevious
So go the theater on May 19th or May 18th at midnight if you are really dedicated, and wear your Darth Vader costume, your Jedi robes, or your Leia buns. Duel with you light sabers, and be a fan. That is what being a fan of something is about. Getting together with friends and having a good time, no matter what anyone else says or thinks. This will be the last chance for us Star Wars fans to celebrate the release of a film, but Star Wars will live on in whatever George Lucas has in store for us, on DVD (I am sure they will be re-released and re-released again), and in our memories of the experiences we have had with other fans.
So for what I hope will not be the last time, May The Force Be With You
