In Pictures: 'Raven World Premiere'

RAVEN (2009)directed by Gregori J. Martin(Manhattanites,Jack Rio,Mary, & Intruders) formulates a diverse ensemble that tells the story of vampires leaving among mortals in and around decadent Los Angeles. Aaron Pope’s story is a concise tale of these white wolves that stem back to Romanian times. The sire being Vladmir played flawlessly by Tyler Christopher (Off the Black, Charmed & General Hospital) meets his fated adversary and bounty hunter Dragos played by a virile Vincent De Paul (Barry's Gift, Poseidon, Night Cry, and Moonlight) In these brief flash backs the audience was introduced to an unique lure and was left wanting more between these two strong historical figures. The Raven played by Meadow Williams (Apollo 13 & the Mask) is the perfect seductress who approaches the role with a naive darkness who has a moral struggle with one of her victims. The victim being her former lover -- John Salem played with uber strength and sincerity by Roland Kickinger( Street Warriors, According to Jim & The Closer)---Notables include the perennial great Steve Bauer(Scarface & Primal Fear)the brooding and heart felt Ari Welkomen(Brick & the Brotherhood) A stand out performance was by Weston 'Arcane' Copolla Cage which had performance that was dark and on pitch. The cinematography was beyond beautiful. Matthias Schubert D.P. brings its viewers on a journey that is a bloody feast for the eyes. The premiere at the Goldenshon Theater at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences completed the evening with vintage caskets and Cadillac hearses arriving on at the red carpet was heavily covered by the media and was a fun and ghoulish night for all.
