Who is Sienna Miller?
Every time I open the paper I’m either reading about how Rosie O’Donnell swallowed Donald Trump, Britney Spears forgot to put on underwear but remembered her lip gloss, or Sienna Miller was seen out on the town.
Where I come from there are only two reasons for attracting press, 1) you’re a big movie star and people love your movies or 2) you’re a classless skank named Paris Hilton and people love your home videos.
I’m not quite sure where Sienna Miller fits in.
For someone who has not only never had a hit movie, but hasn’t even made many movies she sure makes it seem like she’s a big time celebrity. And by big time celebrity I mean a really important person, someone who should never have to wait in line for either tables at restaurants or kidneys at hospitals. You know, people who are better than you.
I guess she deserves a little press for dating Jude Law, and more importantly being cheated on but if every celebrity’s date ended up in the newspaper, Jamie Foxx would have to buy an entire publication.
It is true that the press decides who to focus on and you cannot really blame Sienna for the amount of attention she has received.
So celebrities hire their publicist to do what?
But when you do get press for something you do it’s always better if it’s not for putting your foot in your mouth (or picking up a transsexual, right Eddie?).
When Sienna was in Pittsburgh filming a movie, she referred to the city as Shitsburgh. Needless to say it created waves. People in both Pittsburgh and Plattsburgh were upset. (Plattsburgh misheard the quote and turns out they were no longer upset and could care less).
At least she was getting ink for something she did and not for who she was dating.
A while back I watched Sienna in ‘Layer Cake.’ I had no idea she was in the movie. I turned it on because of the buzz on the film and it turned out Daniel Craig was fantastic in it (and should have had people shutting their mouths then about him playing Bond). While Sienna turned in a worthy performance, her role was small and could have been played by any number of actresses.
So now with the release of ‘Factory Girl,’ I find myself wondering why I should go see this movie. Adding reasons to the “no” column is that it’s another film about Andy Warhol. Haven’t we heard enough about this guy? Didn’t someone shoot him in ‘I Shot Andy Warhol?’
So sorry Sienna, I just don’t see the attraction. I’ll keep looking out for you in the tabloids but instead of seeing ‘Factory Girl,’ I might just watch the Andy Warhol movies he made, like that well know classic bit of cinema called ‘Trash.’

I think Sienna's claim to fame is not only one who dated Jude Law (and apparently while he was still married to Sadie Frost), but she, like Kate Moss, is a bit of a fashion icon overseas. I know her name from fashion articles focusing on the 'boho chic' look that was big awhile ago. Other than that, it's her on the red carpets or at some party.
