As usual, Warner Bros. has one of the most high profile slates of releases, packed with the biggest stars scheduled for 2006. From more character driven pieces like 'Lucky You' starring Eric Bana and Robert Duvall to big summer spectacle movies like 'Superman Returns', WB's massive 2006 group of movies runs through every genre and style of filmmaking. Firewall Firewall stars Harrison Ford as bank security expert Jack Stanfield, whose specialty is designing infallible theft-proof financial computer systems. But there’s a hidden vulnerability in the system he didn’t account for – himself. When a ruthless criminal mastermind (Paul Bettany) kidnaps his family, Jack is forced to find a flaw in his system and steal $100 million. With the lives of his wife and children at stake and under constant surveillance, he has only hours to find a loophole in the thief’s own impenetrable system of subterfuge and false identities to beat him at his own game. 16 Blocks 16 Blocks is a character-driven action thriller that stars Bruce Willis as Jack Mosley, a broken down NY detective assigned to escort a petty criminal (Mos Def) from the precinct to the courthouse. The seemingly simple 16 block journey becomes a test of character for them when Jack’s ex-partners attempt to stop them. It’s the story of how two men change each other during a tense 110-minute struggle between life and death. '16 Blocks' is due for release on March 3rd. Deep Sea 3D Deep sea 3D, a new underwater adventure from the filmmakers behind the successful IMAX 3D film Into the Deep, transports audiences deep below the ocean surface to swim alongside some of the most exotic creatures on the planet, from the bizarre rainbow nudibranch to the giant pacific octupus. Though the magic of IMAX and IMAX 3D, moviegoers will be introduced to a cast of characters, as they depend on one another for survival admist their unique personalities, to witness their humorous, threatening and sometimes peculiar behavior. V for Vendetta Set against the futuristic landscape of totalitarian Britain, V For Vendetta tells the story of a mild-mannered young woman named Evey (Natalie Portman) who is rescued from a life-and-death situation by a masked man (Hugo Weaving) known only as “V.” Incomparably charismatic and ferociously skilled in the art of combat and deception, V ignites a revolution when he urges his fellow citizens to rise up against tyranny and oppression. As Evey uncovers the truth about V’s mysterious background, she also discovers the truth about herself – and emerges as his unlikely ally in the culmination of his plan to bring freedom and justice back to a society fraught with cruelty and corruption. ATL ATL tells the story of four teens coming of age in a working class Atlanta neighborhood where hip-hop music and roller skating rule. As the group prepares for life after high school, challenges on and off the rink bring about turning points in each of their lives. The film is loosely based on Dallas Austin and Tionne Watkins’ experiences growing up in Atlanta and hanging out at a local skating rink called Jellybeans. 'ATL' is due for release on March 31st. Poseidon When a rogue wave capsizes a luxury cruise ship in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean, a small group of survivors find themselves unlikely allies in a battle for their lives. Lady in the Water In Lady in the Water, a story originally conceived by writer-director M. Night Shyamalan for his children, a modest building manager named Cleveland Heep (Paul Giamatti) rescues a mysterious young woman (Bryce Dallas Howard) from danger and discovers she is actually a narf, a character from a bedtime story who is trying to make the treacherous journey from our world back to hers. Cleveland and his fellow tenants start to realize that they are also characters in this bedtime story. The Departed The Departed is set in South Boston, where the state police force is waging war on organized crime.
