A job, a wife, a baby and no free time. I haven’t seen the films but based on what I’ve heard and know, we’ll see if the movie is worth it. It’s the UNSEEN MOVIE REVIEW.
If you could pal around with any Hollywood celeb who would it be? Clooney? He seems funny is always chasing skirts. Jennifer Lopez? I don’t think I want to waste that much time tanning. Shatner? Why not? He sounds crazy and seems to like the ladies a lot younger than he is. For my money I would have to pick Matthew McConaughey. He comes across as your pal who happens to play the bongos in the nude. Most of my friends are into shopping with their wives, so nude bongo playing would be a refreshing change. If Matt Mc is so cool what’s he doing popping up in a formulaic romantic comedy like Failure to Launch? The film also stars Terry Bradshaw as his father! I made myself a promise a long time ago never to see any works starring ex-NFL players unless Emmanuel Lewis showed up in them too.
Matthew seems to have landed a pretty sweet gig – the romantic comedy with the cute co-star. It worked for him with Lopez in The Wedding Planner, he really launched it with Kate Hudson in How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days and now he’s added Sara Jessica Parker to the mix. (By the way, once you become famous, you should really shorten your name to only two or at least throw in a J. like Mikey Fox did). I guess Matthew is on his way to becoming the new Meg Ryan. Maybe he’ll leave Penelope Cruz for Russell Crowe too? Have you seen Meg lately? It looks like she got a deal on plastic surgery and couldn’t say no the add-ons.
I miss seeing the Matthew I know from Dazed and Confused. It was a great performance even if it resembles the real guy a little too much. But he also turned it on for A Time to Kill and Contact, both fine films even if his name wasn’t Wooderson. I have no doubt that Failure to Launch will be a mid size hit, women still think this guy is good looking and my wife will see anything that has the slightest link to Sex and the City which explains why we watched Mannequin on cable last night. I just hope Matt starts thinking about the work some more and gets off the new romantic comedy gravy train.
