Wolf Brother -
Based on the novel of the same name by Michelle Paver.
The book is set thousands of years ago when the land is one dark forest. Its people are hunter-gatherers. They know every tree and herb and they know how to survive in a time of enchantment and powerful magic. Until an ambitious and malevolent force conjures a demon: a demon so evil that it can be contained only in the body of a ferocious bear that will slay everything it sees, a demon determined to destroy the world.
Only one boy can stop it - 12 year old Torak, who has seen his father murdered by the bear. With his dying breath, Torak's father tells his son of the burden that is his. He must lead the bear to the mountain of the World Spirit and beg that spirit's help to overcome it. Torak is an unwilling hero. He is scared and trusts no one. His only companion is a wolf cub only three moons old, whom he seems to understand better than any human. Theirs is a terrifying quest in a world of wolves, tree spirits and Hidden People, a world in which trusting a friend means risking your life.

i have been searching all over the internet for news but, so far, no luck :(. They all say it's coming out soon but it doesn't say when and so far it's just an idea! i LOVE this book and I want to see the movie soon!!!!!!!!!
Well, i really enjoyed the book, and I read a lot, probably about 3000 pages minimum in a week, and I'm pretty critical, but I fear that this will turn into another mess up. I have seen it too many times when there's a good book and a rubbish film, not mentioning any names, as Eragon wouldn't like it if I mentioned the film here. I'm just worried that this will turn out to be another one of those...

this book comes out some time in 2008-2009. Probly in the fall of 2008. I can hardly wait.I own the books and reread them all the time. Michelle Paver's Chronicles of Antiant Darkness is now my favorit series ever.I can't wait till the movie, and her next book Outcast to come out.

I loved this book. Can't wait for Movie. Hope Fox does a good job this time. Its Driving me Crazy having to wait. Haven't heard much about it either. I love wolves love the books so can't wait.

Hi, was wondering if info. on the auditions will be posted here (dates, place etc.) and if there are any requirements for playing Renn? (eg. hair colour- or can you wear a wig, age, etc.). It would be great if you could help.

I love the books. i am glad they are making a movie. just do not mess it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do believe once they post who the director will be, they might give out audition notices. However, not all films go for 'Open Auditions' such as the Harry Potter franchise, and it might just be kept on a close circuit for professional working actors with agents.
If you do want to audition, I suggest possibly getting backed up with an agent, or simply getting professional headshots done. Also, alot of people break out into the industry with modeling work (such as Cameron Diaz or Angelina Jolie). They do consider 'amateurs' but only if you have something that 'Wows' them, with working actors they can simply look at resumes or portfolios at their previous line of work.

I've been hoping someone would make a movie about this series. I was never into reading at all before I got this book. Now I read all the time. After I finished Wolf Brother I had to get the sequels. I'm also a really big wolf fanatic because of this book.

Also guys, I would think about sending in a resume or getting an agent to send in a resume because they probably won't pick someone through open auditions. It took me (litterally) 7 months to realize that.

I don't really care if the movie is rubbish, becoz then at least i'll know. There's been word about the movie since 2005 and it's been killing me, even if it is rubbish at least i don't have to wait anymore, but does anyone know why they've taken so long to write it? with all these people asking about auditions i dont think they'll have trouble find actors, and its a FANTASTIC book!
Good luck to anyone auditioning, i hope they choose someone who isnt famous or well known cuz this book is set in such a different world that i want people i've never heard of playing my favourite characters.

I love this book so much.I'm just wandering when the actual date will be posted. Me and My friends are wandering that is. Also when will the movie trailer be posted up. When it is im wstching the movie trailer every day till it comes out.
