Whether you love him or hate him, there is no question that George W. Bush is one of the most controversial public figures in recent memory.  In an unprecedented undertaking, acclaimed director Oliver Stone is bringing the life of our 43rd President to the big screen as only he can.  W. takes viewers through Bush’s eventful life -- his struggles and triumphs, how he found both his wife and his faith, and of course the critical days leading up to his decision to invade Iraq

Let me just start by saying, I don't approve of the job Bush has done in his last two terms and I am counting down the days until he is out of office. Having said that this movie is no more then a rosey attempt to bash the president once more. The fact that this movie was released so close to the election date I find absolutely appaling. The events in the film were overembelished, this was just an excuse for the director and actor to take one last hit at Bush. I suppose the expression 'you beat a dead horse' is lost to the media and those in Hollywood. Okay the guy was a crappy president, but so was Carter and you don't see anyone harping at him incesently. Here's a message to those in Hollywood and the media; give it a rest will you! Find something else to gripe about because this is getting old.

This movie is basically what Oliver Stone wishes George W. Bush was like in order to justify his rage at the President. It's actually kind of sad.

oliver stones sucks at portraying accuracy

look at the doors movie..they made jim look like he was just a druggy mess...which he was sometimes but he made him out to be just a jerk and not a great artist..

same with bush...so blown out of proportion its sickening

ThisThe acting was o.k. I thought a few characters were widely off the real people. The direction was good. The visuals were o.k.

The story was pretty bad. The story of George Bush just isn't that interesting. The added drama about him wanting to be like his Daddy and finding religion is funny but not really I'm glad I sat in here for this long funny. I know the whole 'based on a true story' thing is always a lie. We really don't know much about Bush's private life or what happened behind closed doors at the White House. So I'm totally cool with them taking creative liberties and making Bush look foolish. What bugged me was when they changed a fact that was well documented, even televised and made it different from what Bush actually said or acted like or moved. They even changed the clothes he wore. Why not do those scenes exactly like they factually happened. Even from a liberal slant Bush could easily be ripped on for a lot of those situations/conversations, there was no need to change them.

I had my hopes up for this movie and they were shot down.

I thought the movie was a good movie It was good entertainment to watch Isn't that why people watch movies? to be entertained?
Im not sure where people get the idea that this movie was a bash at G.W. though. I got a lot of positive things out of the movie, LIKE!! Who could recover from being a drunk and then being the 43 President. Remember its just a movie, if your a Bush fan its still a movie, if your not a Bush fan, its still a movie.
