In the original, James Woods starred as Max Renn, the head of Civic TV Channel 83. Renn proceeds to boost the station’s ratings by showing “Videodrome,” a torture/murder-infused series that hypnotizes its viewers.
The remake will use the original as a starting point for a sci-fi action thriller.
