Triangle
Triangle”, a UK/Australian co-production starring Melissa George, commenced principal photography in June 2008, filming at the Warner Roadshow Studios in Queensland, Australia, and at various locations on the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
The film stars Melissa George along with some of Australia’s most exciting, young and upcoming actors including Michael Dorman (“Daybreakers”), Rachael Carpani (“McCleod’s Daughers”) and Henry Nixon (“Noise”), as well as the talented newcomer Liam Hemsworth.
“Triangle” is written and directed by British filmmaker Christopher Smith (“Creep”, “Severance”), and produced by Dan Films’ Jason Newmark and Julie Baines in the UK, and Chris Brown from Pictures In Paradise in Australia. It will be distributed worldwide by Icon Entertainment International and is the first co-production to be financed under the new producer offset scheme, through Investec (Bank) Australia Pty Ltd arranged by See-Saw Films.
“Triangle”, a psychological thriller, stars Melissa George as Jess, a young single mother, who is invited to join her friend Greg (Michael Dorman) for a day aboard his yacht with friends. Disaster strikes when a violent storm causes the boat to capsize. As the survivors cling to the upturned hull, salvation arrives in the form of a massive ocean liner.
Australian actress Melissa George is quickly emerging as one of the most promising new actors of her generation. She was recently nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in the acclaimed HBO series “In Treatment”, co-starring with Gabriel Byrne. She also starred as the female lead opposite Josh Hartnett and Danny Huston in Sony Pictures’ “30 Days of Night.”. Other credits include the Weinstein Company’s “Waz”; the MGM hit remake of “The Amityville Horror”; “The Limey” co-starring Terrence Stamp; David Lynch’s “Mulholland Drive” and “Derailed” with Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston.
