I saw this movie a few days ago. It is good, but incredibly sad. The film focuses on the competition between the two magicians, and uses plot twists to distract the viewer from what is really happening - just as a magician does to his audience. Jackman and Bale do well in their parts as competing magicians. But their obsession with besting the other comes at a high price, and watching the men slowly destroy themselves turned the film into a tragedy. It is a good film, to be sure. Just don't let the intended plot twists distract you from the terrible tragedy unfolding before your eyes.
