Based on "The Golden Man," a story by sci-fi writer Philip K. Dick, who also wrote Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, The Minority Report and Blade Runner.
Las Vegas showroom magician Cris Johnson has a secret which is a gift and a curse which torments him: he can see a few minutes into the future. Sick of the examinations he underwent as a child and the interest of the government and medical establishment in his power, he lies low under an assumed name in Vegas, performing cheap tricks and living off small-time gambling “winnings.” But when a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear device in Los Angeles, government agent Callie Ferris must use all her wiles to capture Cris and convince him to help her stop the cataclysm.

'The Golden Man' was a short story, not a novel. In it, the title character was completely devoid of intelligence/(and, if memory serves, frontal lobes), merely acting for his survival on his ability to see the 'brightest' future.
Blade Runner was indeed based on the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Look for all of his incredible works of fiction to be turned into half assed movie imitations. If you really want a trip for your brain, read a book. Dick's books in particular.
'Next' was a great movie and the potential for 'Next2' or as I would call it 'The Next Day' is even better. With today fear of terroism, nukes exploding etc. I know I would go see it. The idea of time travel in days, months, years or two mins. ahead is always a good plot for a movie. IMO the acting was was very well done all around
