'Loverboy' is the story of a woman who attempts to compensate for her loveless childhood by having a child of her own. As she strives to be the antithesis of her own emotionally absent parents, she creates an insulated, utopian world for the two of them to live. As her child grows into a little boy, he becomes fascinated with the world outside of the one she has created for them.
The psychological ramifications of her childhood, coupled with her fear of losing the one thing in life she has always wanted, ultimately lead to tragic consequences.
