Lone Survivor -

Luttrell, the sole survivor of Operation Redwing, and the desperate battle in the mountains that led, ultimately, to the largest loss of life in Navy SEAL history. He was the last one left-blasted unconscious by a rocket grenade, blown over a cliff, but still armed and still breathing.
Over the next four days, badly injured and presumed dead, Luttrell fought off six al Qaeda assassins who were sent to finish him, then crawled for seven miles through the mountains before he was taken in by a Pashtun tribe, who risked everything to protect him from the encircling Taliban killers.
Based on Luttrell's own account, which was published June 2007.

I totally agree. To do any less than exactly how the book was will be a disgrace to these brave men.
I finished reading the book...please make the movie exactly as the book states. Do not mix the facts or change the roles each played. Do not be media friendly, tell it like it was.
Just finished reading the book as well.
This was not about who won or lost nor who was right or wrong. It was about how a group of supremely trained warriors can give their lives without regret to aid a member/s of their brotherhood. It was also about how we can learn from ancient cultures given this selfish day and age. Please give justice to those who paid the ultimate price and to those that kept Marcus alive. Being true to the book would honor them most.
I agree with the comments above, I hope Hollywood doesn't pull their own slant on this action. I have been trying to get through the book but going is slow. My childrens cousin ET1 Jeffrey A. Lucas SEAL Team 10, was on the rescue helicopter that was shot down. The memories of these men deserve honor and not Hollywood hype.
I can't wait for this movie to come out. I'm sure Peter Berg Will do a fine job recreating the events that took place during operation Red Wing. The speacial ops community deserves to have its storys told as they happened!
I read the book right after it was available.Unbelievable, the story was riveting. You feel like your right there. Three quarters through the book, I had difficulty reading when I realized my eyes were full of tears!!We owe so much to these men who get in harms way for us. God bless them.
This is the best book I've ever read without question. I've noticed Peter Berg has worked with Tom Cruise in a few movies, he better not have that clown anywhere in this movie. Do it like the book and it will be great
Tom Cruise is a joke! I knew these guys and I can't think of an actor standing that could play any of them. They were fantastic team guys, family men and great friends to have. If Hollywood follows Marcus's guidance, portrayal of each of these heroes will be bigger than life. I can't wait to see it; hell, I might just see it a dozen times!

I just hope that Peter Berg doesn't screw this up. The book was amazing and deserves to be told EXACTLY how it's supposed to be told.
