Actor Kurt Russell has been approached to play the role of Master Chief in the new Halo Movie.
George Lucas has expressed his interest in the film as well.

I agree denzel washington should not be the master chief. He is a good actor but the voice of the master chief in the game should be the master chief in the movie.
i agree with everyone about Denzel. I really think Jason Statham should be master chief because he sounds like him.
i totally agree i like denzel but he is no master chief id say keep the actor that does his voice in the game and put him in the movie. as much as i like the games i defitnly loved the story in the books i wish they would start the movie from the fall of reach instead of where they crash into the halo world. but thats just my opion.
If George Lucas has something to do with it, that would be great. I have to agree that they should keep the voice of the game and give it the firstperson shooter perspective that would make it more like the game. I don't even think that Kurt Russell is a good fit for Master Chief his voice isn't the same. Keep the same voice from the game and for sure give it the firstperson shooter view.
Um, if its going to be in all first person mode through masterchiefs eyes, then why would they need kurt russel to play master chief if u never get to see him. youll be looking through his eyes, not at him

i think that the master chief should be vin diesel i dont have anything on denzel or anything and im not racist i just think that the masterchief should be white....
vin diesel was great in riddick and his voice would be perfect for master cheif but i dont think that he has the right face to play master cheif and i agree that they should use the guy who did the voice in the halo games.
Michael Clark Duncan would make a great Master Chief. Based on high big Master Chief is (over 1000 lbs) and you never see his face. Duncan's stature is perfect.
I think that they should make it animated because i think it will be better.

I highly think that Denzel Washington would be the absolute worst person for the part of Master Chief. Vin Diesel might be good though. They need a person that is almost part of the game. Thats what i think

Im not a big fan of halo but i realy think that the halo movie will kick ass
I think this film should break the mold of 'video game' movies. Here are my ideas... 1) make it in first person, for the whole film (unlike doom) 2) use any (good) actors. But overdub them with the voices we have grown to love. 3) R... it must be rated R. 4) Stay 100% true to the story. (no adding new weapons, landscape, people, creatures...no love interest b.s. for master cheif!) 5) Make it a 2 part series, a trilogy would mean too much 'dragging on' 6) Finally, when it comes time to make a trailer for the film...NO clips, just sounds. I hate seeing 'the best parts' before I even see the film. I'm 100% sure that it will do fine at the box office without any spoiling trailers...
No over all I think that Russell Crowe would suit the job for Master Cheif and Denzel Washingtion would suit Sgt. Johnson. And to me I think the voice over for Cortana should also play in the movie as well.
im totaly in aggreement that Vin Deisil would make an awsome master chief but im not in aggreement that Mr. Washington should play Srg. Johnson. in my own personal opinion i could see Samuel L. Jackson as Srg. Johnson. but thats my opinion.
I think that either denzel washington or samuel Jackson would be good for SGT Johnson. however, Vin Dizel as master cheif is a huge no. And the whole first person idea would never happen with Peter Jackson directing the movie. I love the game but in some ways i think if they make this halo movie that it will totally ruin my like for Halo
Okay, the halo movie is supposed to be relesed this summer of 2008, or it will be pushed back into production till 2009. i hope it's pushed back because it would give them extra time to make the movie how it should be. and the master cheif is only 1000 pounds with the suit. has any boddy else read the books. i think they should start the movie with the first halo game. then do a prequal to when he first gets drafted into the spartan 2 project.

I believe if there looking for a master cheif Kurt Russell, Russell Crowe, or maybe even Bruce Willis would be perfect for the role.
Ok first off, none of the actors anyone listed would be a good master chief. They should use the rock as a build for master chief because all the spartans were physically altered so that they built more muscle and their bones were altered so that they couldn't break. Second they should use all the voices from the games and start the Trilogy out at the first halo so that people who've never played the game can follow the story and not be completely lost. And third, putting the movie in first person view would be the worst thing to do because people that might want to see the movie would probably hate it in that view when they wanted to watch a 'real movie' not an exspensive video game produced by Peter Jackson and released in theaters. But I do hope that if they make this film, they should make it follow the games as much as possible and add some dialoge where it isnt in the games when you play solo for awhile to make the film still interesting instead of a kick a** guy slaughtering hoards of hostile aliens for the length of the film.
If they're smart then they'll make a lot, if not all, of this movie in CGI. Have the original cast from the triology be the voices. I'm sure everyone's seen the wonderful Halo 3 Super Bowl Ad, and if they can get the movie to look just like that, then this movie will knock the socks off of anyone.
From what I understand they -are- keeping the Master Chief and Cortana's voice the same as they did in Halo 3, but I haven't heard anything about Srg. Johnson or the Keyes family. Martin is re-writing the soundtrack to accommodate for the movie.
I also understand/read that this movie is looking like it's going to be rated no less then PG-13 due to the gore, not cursing, so we KNOW this will be a good movie.
All us Halo fans can now hope that 1) They start with 'The Fall of Reach' and make it so everyone can understand how this started, not just the gamers and 2) They actually go through with this project.
I think that Steve Downes, the voice of Chief in the game should do the voice of Chief in the movie, but have a built actor like say Chuck Norris be in the suit

I think Samuel L. Jackson should be SGT. Johnson. Anyone agree? I do agree that the origional Master Cheif a.k.a John-117 should be the voice to the Master Chief in the upcoming movie. For one last comment, any film with the producers like Peter Jackson (LOTR) and George Lucas (Star Wars) and the Bungie company will make one awesome movie. I also think the movie should NOT be in first person like the game.
I hope Peter Jackson won`t make this thing in 1st person view or I`ll just boot it away like a peice of c***. I want an interesting story. I actually want to see Master Cheif kick some a**

If anyone who is involved in the Halo film please do us all a favor and don't ruin this movie by puting denzel washington in it, don't get me wrong i love denzel washington, and it's allways great to here a denzel speech,..just not from master chief,....im sure every fan of Halo would agree. and making mistake like casting the wrong person for a role like master chief who is a much sought after big screen character, could potentially cause how it does in the box office. so please choose verry carefully a lot of people are looking forward to this film.
