Latest “Star Wars” rumour to hit, this time coming from The Hollywood Reporter, is that actors Michael Fassbender, Hugo Weaving and “Girls” star Adam Driver are being considered for roles in the upcoming “Star Wars: Episode VII” movie.
This follows on from news earlier this week that “Breaking Bad” star Jesse Plemons is also in talks for a key role in the film, potentially as one of the offsprings of “Star Wars” favorites, Princess Leia, Han Solo or Luke Skywalker. However, he is said to be on a list with many other actors for the unidentified role.
THR also report some interesting information regarding the storyline of Episode VII. It had been widely thought that the offspring of the original trilogies main characters would take center stage in the forthcoming film, but now it appears that may not be the case. Multiple insiders report that since screenwriter Michael Arndt left “Star Wars,” the focus has moved from the Solo and Skywalker offsprings, back to Leia, Han and Luke. This was said to be one of the major reasons Michael Arndt was released from writing duties, as director J. J. Abrams wanted to give the classic trio of characters more screen times so audiences could have one more chance to enjoy them before a “fitting send-off.” Sources claim that the new characters however will begin to take over as central figures in the new trilogy in the following movies, Episode VIII and Episode IX.
“Star Wars Episode VII” is released across the US and UK from December 18th, 2015.
