Meryl Streep has been forced to shelve plans to attend the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday because she has a date with bonnie Prince Charles and former US Vice-President and environmental filmmaker, Al Gore.
The actress is nominated for a SAG Award for portraying icy cool Miranda Priestly in “The Devil Wears Prada,” but she won’t be attending the SAG awards.
In a statement, Streep’s publicist explains, “Meryl Streep will not be able to attend the Screen Actors Guild Award ceremonies… She will be co-hosting the 10th annual benefit for Harvard Medical School’s Center for Health and the Global Environment.
Vice President Al Gore and Streep will present the Center’s Global Citizen award to HRH The Prince Of Wales – Prince Charles- for his outstanding commitment to sound environmental stewardship.
