Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are set to team up again in the forthcoming drama ‘Shutter Island.’
Variety reports the movie is based on Dennis Lehane’s novel. Set in 1054, the film follows U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels (DiCaprio) as he investigates the disappearance of an inmate from a hospital for the criminally insane. The murderess is thought to be holed up on Shutter Island.
Laeta Kalogridis has written the script and Scorsese will direct.
Paramount Pictures and Columbia Pictures are sharing the production load with Paramount to distribute in the US.
Two of Lehane’s other novels, Mystic River and Gone Baby Gone, have also made it to the big screen.
