Martin Lawrence to be Better Man

Martin Lawrence wants to be a better man. So he has signed with Universal Pictures to star in Malcom D. Lee’s comedy ‘The Better Man.’

Lee is best known for directing the first episode in the TV series ‘Everybody Hates Chris’ and directing ‘Undercover Brother’ (2002)

Returning home to attend the 50th anniversary of his parents, the single father with a fabulous fiancée and a wonderful job as a syndicated talk show host begins to question his life.

Scott Stuber and Mary Parent will produce.

Writer-director Lee is reported as saying, “There’s emotion and pathos here that give Martin a chance to display more layers than usual.

Lawrence, voiced a character in the animated hit ‘Open Season’ and most recently completed ‘Wild Hogs’ with Tim Allen and John Travolta.

Production on Better Man is slated to start in March 2007.
