Gary Rubin’s distribution company, Independent Pictures has picked up the USA rights to “Mail Order Wife.” The movie is due for release in February next year and follow the tale of a man who, fed up with dating, orders an asian wife through a catalogue. Filmmakers then pay him so that they may document the results.
However, not all goes well and the man turns out to be a reclusive sadist. A relationship then develops between the “bride” and the filmmaker.
Eugenia Yuan, Andrew Gurland and Adrian Martinez star in the film.
