Lindsay Lohan sued over PCH chase incident

No surprises here.  Actress Lindsay Lohan was finally sued for assault and negligence today in Santa Monica by the woman who was a passenger in the car that Lohan is accused of chasing while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The passenger, Tracie Rice, issued a statement after the lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court. She says Lohan, as Rice sees it, “put me through one of the most frightening experiences of my life.”

TMZ.com reports that according to the suit, Tracie Rice was in the SUV driven by Michelle Peck, the mother of Lohan’s former assistant.

Rice says she “was convinced that their lives were in danger and that they had to outrun the pursuing car or they might be killed.” The night of the incident, Rice claims Peck was so terrified at being chased by Lohan that she drove through a barricade and into the parking lot near the Santa Monica Police Station.

Rice claims she jumped out of the Cadillac Escalade and ran toward police officers and saw a woman, (Lohan), run from another SUV toward her. “Police officers approached all of them with guns drawn,” the suit said, reports TMZ.

The suit also alleges intentional infliction of emotional distress and violation of the state civil code. It seeks unspecified damages and also payment of medical and other expenses related to emotional distress.

Lohan was arrested for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence and with a suspended license, and felony cocaine possession.

Two men who claim they were Lohan’s kidnapped passengers during the July 24th chase have said she took one man’s SUV and chased her personal assistant after an argument at a Malibu party.

More suits to come.
