Struggling actress Lindsay Lohan was set to escort the eccentric Austrian billionaire Richard Lugner to his annual soiree, all she had to do was hop on a plane, doll up a bit and collect her fee at the end of the gig.
Lugner traditionally selects a different notable female celebrity each year for the annual Vienna Opera Ball.
Now E! reports that Lugner, age 77, was left dateless, thanks to Lohan’s delays at the airport.
According to Lugner, he claimed that Lohan missed her plane from Los Angeles to London after “a shopping spree ran overtime.”
Lohan tried to board the plane, but the late boarding fee for holding the plane up was too steep for the actress.
“She wanted to pay it, but her card’s credit limit was not high enough,” Lugner said of the required $22,000 fee.
E! claims the love affair between the billionaire and Lohan started to sour when her list of demands became excessive.
The Austrian party boy was to keep all alcohol out of sight and actually move the date of the ball, which falls on the Thursday before Ash Wednesday.
Previous dates for Lugner included Dita Von Teese, Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton, Carmen Electra and Nicollette Sheridan.
Reports are the Austrian is bucking tradition and will be escorted by a male German entertainer, Dieter Bohlen.Note the date on this article may be incorrect due to importing it from our old system.
