Website offers multimedia experience through Brasilia
Brasilia (dpa) - The Virtual Museum of Brasilia internet portal now offers visitors the opportunity to experience Brasilia by way of a virtual trip through the Brazilian capital.
The multimedia experience includes visits to notable sights such as the Nossa Senhora Aparecida Cathedral and the Catetinho, Brasilia's first building, as well as the chance to view the city from a height of 24 metres, according to the Brazilian tourist office. Extreme triathlon in the Bernese Alps
Grindelwald, Switzerland (dpa) - A triathlon of the more extreme variety takes place on August 20 in the Bernese Alps in Switzerland. Competitors in the 14th Inferno Triathlon have tackle a height of 5,500 metres in four disciplines.
The race involves a 3.1-kilometre swim, 97km by bike, 30km on a mountain bike and a 25km run, according to Jungfrau Region Marketing in Grindelwald. There is also a half-marathon and triathlons for two- and four-person teams. The route offers spectacular views of the Eiger, Moench and Jungfrau peaks. Internet: www.inferno.ch
Mythical flower festival in Odense
Odense, Denmark (dpa) - Flowers are being used by the city of Odense to interpret old Danish legends and the ancient gods. The flower festival, titled 'Nordic Mythology', takes place in the main city of the island of Funen from August 17 to 20. Folk festival in southern Denmark
Tonder, Denmark (dpa) - Tonder in southern Denmark hosts one of the largest European folk festivals this summer when folk musicians from all over the world descend on the town near the German border for four days of music and entertainment, according to the Danish tourist office.

Sziget festival in Budapest
Budapest (dpa) - Music fans can enjoy their favourite bands for five days from August 10 on an island in the Danube. This year's Sziget festival includes big-name acts such as Kaiser Chiefs, Pulp and The National. An extensive open-air cinema programme will run parallel to the music festival, which is expected to attract around 400,000 visitors. Blueberry festival on Lake Michigan
South Haven, Michigan (dpa) -The 48th Annual National Blueberry Festival takes place in South Haven, Michigan, between August 11 and 14. Organizers expect around 50,000 visitors to the festival, which includes pageants, blueberry pancake breakfasts, a parade, as well as a host of culinary events.
