Finns celebrate the herring
Helsinki - Visitors to many parts of Finland in October will receive fresh herring galore as the country celebrates its annual herring festivals. The largest will be held in the capital Helsinki, says the Finnish tourist board. Here from October 4th to 10th the versatile fish will be served salted, pickled and marinated. North Wales holds trekking festival
Cardiff - Wales is hosting a trekking festival between October 16 - 18 which will take walkers to the top of Mount Snowdon, the highest peak in the country. The festival has 12 organised tours that take between four and seven hours to complete. Tickets cost between 13 and 25 dollars.
