Meals On Wheels Association of America and Bridgestone Retail Operations are collaborating to help fund the charitable program that delivers hot meals to house-bound seniors.
Every day in America, one in nine seniors – an astonishing 5 million people – are facing the threat of hunger.
According to Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA) "75% more seniors will be facing the threat of hunger by 2025."
In an effort to combat this growing problem, MOWAA, the oldest and largest organization in the United States representing those who provide meal services to people in need, and Bridgestone Retail Operations (BRSO) announce a national partnership. BSRO operates the largest network of company-owned automotive service providers in the world, including Firestone Complete Auto Care™, Tires Plus™, ExpertTire™ and Wheel Works™ locations.
“Bridgestone Retail Operations truly is a company with a conscience and we are very pleased that they are partnering with our organization to help provide the next meal to seniors across the country,” said Enid Borden, President and CEO of MOWAA. “Together, we can and we will drive away senior hunger.”
The partnership will focus on increasing awareness of, and funding and volunteers for, Meals On Wheels programs nationwide. Activities will include fundraisers and volunteer recruitment. In addition, Members of MOWAA and volunteers will have the opportunity to receive very special offers on tires and services at BSRO’s network of locations.
