Swiss give a name to newborn found in public toilet
May 28, 2010, 18:19 GMT
Geneva - A newborn baby found in a public toilet in Switzerland and now under observation in a hospital was given a name Friday, two days after he was discovered.
The young baby was found late Wednesday night on the cold floor of a restroom in a park, the Tribune de Geneve newspaper said. His mother appeared to have given birth there before she left, leaving no note. Police used sniffer dogs in a vain attempt to follow her.
The newborn - dubbed the 'miracle baby' by media - was provisionally named 'Maxime' by officials in the town of Morges, just outside Geneva, the report said. Nuria Gorrite, the official in charge, said, 'Everyone needs a name.'
