Lady Gaga warns teenagers against having sex too young
Cologne (dpa) - Pop icon Lady Gaga has spoken out against teenagers having sex too early. 'I believe they should wait as long as possible before having sex,' said the pop singer.
She also advised teenagers to remember to use contraception. 'There's nothing wrong with sex. Sex is part of life. I think there has never been a song that was not about sex.'
Lady Gaga was speaking after performing songs from her latest album 'Born this Way' at the final of the fashion-modelling talent show Germany's Next Top Model.
She rejected criticism of the show that it presents the wrong image of beauty to teenage girls. 'I believe everyone has their own ideal of beauty and I don't think this show contradicts that fact. The program is simply about really beautiful girls and that's nice,' she said.
Swimming trunks go leather in Austria
Munich (dpa) - Beachwear in Austria is taking on a traditional look with Lederhosen-style swimming trunks becoming a trend in the country.
The shorts, which are made of a quick-drying material with a leather print, made their first appearance as a pair of swimming trunks two years ago at lakes in Austria's southern state of Carinthia.
In the Viennese newspaper Der Standard columnist Stephen Hilpold wrote that the Lederhosen trunks 'are an expression of patriotism. They symbolise the deep connection between the person wearing them and a region whose sense of style can compare to the fashion capitals of Paris and Milan,' writes Hilpold.
Online shops are reporting that the trend is also selling abroad.
