Cuban-born Peter Lamas was 17 when he emigrated to New York in 1961. His parents had arrived in the Big Apple only a few months earlier, having fled Fidel's Castro's repressive regime with but a few family photographs.
Peter continue his studies of commercial art, photography and at the suggestion of a friend who was a makeup artist and hair stylist, he decided to finance his education by doing hair and makeup part-time. As a result, he discovered that he not only had a flair for doing hair and makeup, but truly enjoyed it.
After he earned his license in cosmetology, Peter studied under Vidal Sassoon, who revolutionized the way women's hair was cut and styled at that time, and celebrity stylist Kenneth.
Over the course of his career, Peter has worked with legendary celebrities including Audrey Hepburn, Jacqueline Kennedy and Kate Winslet, and was also instrumental in developing the makeup used on the award winning feature film, “Titanic.” A long time advocate of natural ingredients, Peter now creates botanically-rich treatments that combine Certified Organic Botanicals, herbs and vitamins to heal, not harm.
Peter has appeared on "Entertainment Tonight," FOX News, CBS News and Telemundo. www.lamasbeauty.com
