Kristen Stewart wears Jett\'s shoes

Kristen Stewart was delighted to receive a pair of Joan Jett's old shoes.

The 19-year-old actress - who is portraying the US rock star in upcoming movie 'The Runaways', about Joan's all-girl group from the 70s - wore them throughout shooting of the film, in an effort to look like the raven-haired musician.

A source told the National Enquirer magazine: "Joan actually used to wear them back in the 70s. She thought wearing them would help with the movie's authenticity."

It has been claimed Kristen is so attached to the footwear she even dons them when she is not at work.

Kristen - who has dyed her hair black and had a drastic restyle for the part - recently admitted she was nervous about playing the 50-year-old rock legend in the film, adding she was listening to lot of Joan's music to help her.

She explained: "I'm trying to just make myself aware of the time period and what she was going through.

"So many people know her as just being like one of the coolest people to ever live. That in itself is one of the most intimidating things that I've ever had to confront but she's so cool too."
