I love shoes… let me say that again so you understand… I LOVE shoes. At one time I owned over 200 pair in my one bedroom apartment. It was just me, my dogs and my shoes and it was a wonderful love story unless the dogs got their teeth on them, but that’s a different story of tears and doggy discipline.
Shoes don’t judge you, they don’t make you feel fat and you don’t have to have two sets for skinny days or PMS days. Shoes make you feel pretty!
And while I love shoes, I adore heels. Being a solid 5’3,” I have learned to do everything in a sexy heel from going to work, running errands, dancing all night long to cheering at football games. Yes, I’m the chick who wears 6 inch heels to sporting events because I am damn good at it.
When the Koolaburra line of boho-chic footwear contacted Monsters and Critics, I got to try them. Sure, they have the super trendy heel-less styles that look great on all the A-list celebrities who are wearing them, but I prefer something with a little chunk.
Not to fear, my high heel loving readers… Koolaburra has a really cool ankle boot that works for any time of the season.
The shoe of the moment is the “Katelyn” - a desert ankle wedge boot.
Wedges are what I call "starter-heels," so if you fall wearing wedges, you might want to check for an inner ear problem or maybe slow down at the bar. Come on, who, beside me, is going to wear these sexy puppies in the desert? It has a 5 inch wedge heel and a 1 inch platform. That means that I am a sexy 5’9” when I’m wearing them and bonus, they are comfortable to wear.
Because they are a sturdy wedge, it doesn’t look like you are teetering on stilts. They come in three muted tones…. Chestnut, Midnight Navy and Tawny Port. Or as I call them in my world: beige, blue and red.
The Katelyn looks like a classic loafer, moccasin and a wedge had a diabolical drunken shoe three-way and came up with this boot. You can dress them up, or go totally casual.
To some they may appear a little odd looking, but I totally dig that. I mean, who wants to wear the same old boring bootie everyday?
They really are a must-have for shoe aficionados! http://www.koolaburra.com/
