IMATS Los Angeles kicks off with NYX awards, Perez Hilton and Melanie Mills

Fans of makeup, glamour and glitz are in for a great weekend.

IMATS, the heralded International Makeup show that goes from LA to London, features some amazing in-person guests such as Emmy award winning makeup artist Melanie Mills, founder of the successful new makeup line Gleam by Melanie Mills, and Perez Hilton, famed gossip columnist who will emcee the NYX FACE Awards, held 1 p.m. Sunday, June 24 on the IMATS Los Angeles Main Stage.

Mills is scheduled to appear Saturday and Sunday from 12 to 5 PM, and will be talking body makeup and the new items in her line including Lip Radiance, the glosses that are taking Hollywood by storm.

Mills also recently appeared on Dr. Oz to showcase her botanically based paraben-free body makeup line Gleam Body Radiance (www.gleambymelaniemills.com ), a safer way to extend the life of an existing tan or create a sun-kissed perfect skin canvas for the face, arms, legs and chest.

Also, before the IMATS show, NYX Cosmetics and Make-Up Artist magazine's beauty website, Makeup411.com, the NYX Fine Artistry of Cosmetic Elites (FACE) Awards launched March 8 at nyxfaceawards.com.

Over the course of the competition, hundreds of hopeful vloggers faced three make-up challenges by NYX and were judged on creativity, technique and presentation.

The top six finalists will face their final challenge live at IMATS Los Angeles, creating a look on a model before a panel of judges, including NYX company founder Toni Ko, celebrity make-up artist Scott Barnes, Beautylish CEO and co-founder Nils Johnson, Macadamia Natural Oil Director of Education Michael Cain and Tim Lusher, general manager of Westin Hotels.

The six finalists, listed by their vlogger names, are Charismastar, iwanted2c1video, Sabsbeauty, Beautyliciousinsider, Promuanetwork and Goldiesterling.

IMATS Los Angeles 2012 NYX FACE Awards emcee Perez Hilton says "I am thrilled to be partnering with NYX Cosmetics for the FACE Awards," said Hilton via a press release. "I promise not to be boring! And to give good face!"

The winner of the contest will take home $25,000, as well as gain access to influential beauty insiders, consult with top industry experts and receive national publicity. Each of the five runners up will receive a year's worth of NYX Cosmetics.
