For Spring 2012, think pink in all forms: Neon to baby pale, and even a sexy neutral nude as the color story coming from the popular British cosmetic company.
The news is full of reports that many nail lacquers are loaded with toxic chemicals that can cause cancer.
Not good news as so many beauty companies are rolling out Springtime shades of polish for fashionistas to flaunt on toes and fingers.

One UK company, butter LONDON, has assured their fans that toluene and other bad ingredients are not to be found in their exciting new line of nail colors.

In a report released by California Environmental Protection Agency's Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC ) it found that several nail polish products tested contained the three chemicals commonly referred to as the "toxic trio" - dibutyl phthalate (DBP), toluene, and formaldehyde.

Despite several of the products' claims to be chemical free, in many cases even stating so on the label, they contained them nonetheless. While many lacquer brands were found guilty of blurring the line between 'toxic' and 'non-toxic', industry leader butter LONDON remains a pioneering force behind the creation of non-toxic nail lacquer in the United States and is dedicated to the health and well-being of their customers.

Leslie Freytag, President & CEO of butter LONDON gave Monsters and Critics a statement regarding this: “All of our products are formulated without the use of the harmful ingredients Formaldehyde, Toluene and DBP. We feel it is imperative to provide a range of 3 Free products that is not only fashion-forward and unique, but most importantly, safe.”

Safety is top priority for the company that has pushed into a crowded field with style and edgy color collections consistently.

Additionally, the news gets even better as butter LONDON launches 'Lippy' glosses that match perfectly to their new nail color line, the operative word here is "match", which a big trend in fashion right now for the beauty junkies.
The brand has quickly become known for their extensive color range - available at retailer Ulta - within the nail category. Now they are expanding into lip looks with Lippy – a line of lip glosses in five shades that correspond with lacquer colors already in the butter LONDON collection.
One of the big trends that Emmy award-winning makeup artist Melanie Mills (www.melaniemillsmakeup.com )shared with us backstage at Style Fashion LA week was the “matchy/matchy” look was hot for fingers, toes and lips. Nails are back in a big way, as pointed, long acrylics and natural nails are the big story, she shared.
butter LONDON has cutting edge colors and is recycling an elegant, classic look of the past in a fresh way. Their colors are bolder and the look is more deliberate.
The new Lippy colours are rich and densely pigmented. The recommended shades include Primrose Hill Picnic, Snog, Trout Pout, Yummy Mummy and Teddy Girl. The formulation is not a typical gloss, but a bit drier, less gloss feeling and more a dense rich moisturizing stain. The staying power is amazing and they even blend well too, creating some hot looks for those who are inclined.
butter LONDON Lippy products do not contain parabens, petroleum, phthalates, sulphates or bismuth. butter LONDON is available at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport flagship store, www.butterlondon.com <http://www.butterlondon.com> , and in fashion boutiques, specialty retailers, and beauty apothecaries around the globe.
