Glamour makeup perfected by Melanie Mills, Marilyn Monroe look recreated

Mills\' served as department head makeup artist on ABC\'s "Dancing with the Stars" for five years, where she established the signature glammed up makeup that took the show to another level.

Old school glamour is the trademark of Emmy winning-makeup artist Melanie Mills, whose iconic beauty heroes are her modern day inspiration for a new crop of lovely young actresses she is styling for her upcoming book, "Viva Glitter Viva Glamour."

For any makeup prep, Melanie Mills recommends made in the USA Skinceuticals skin serum 10 AOX+ and Eraclea vitamin C serums and night cream to get the skin in great shape for a makeup application.

Melanie loves all of Julie Hewett's red lipsticks including Belle Noir, Cocoa Noir, Film Noir and a great Marilyn red, Femme Noir and their matching lipliners too.

For foundation, Melanie mixes up a bit of Gleam Body Radiance in Light Gold and Armani foundation to create a 'lit from within' look around the eye area and forehead and chin, and she also uses Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage and Kevyn Aucoin concealers and foundation for a flawless canvas to set off the dramatic eye, brow and lip pops of color that defines a retro Monroe-inspired makeup.

Marilyn kept her eyes defined by thick black liner on the top of her lids. Dior's Backstage Eyeliners are stick-on adhesive patches; one pair in the set even includes Swarvoski crystals. Another staple Mel uses is M.A.C.'s Blacktrack fluidline gel liner, a must own item for any glamour junkie.

Melanie is a believer in big, lashy eye makeup looks, and Marilyn was the queen of the bedroom eye.
