M&C Holiday Web Thump for curious budget conscious consumers:
Choi was covetous of the curls, and spent tons of dough on items that either burned her hair or her neck when trying to recreate the volume-ized looks taunting her at every turn in fashion magazines and television shows.
California company Parlay Brush features a clever design by American entrepreneur Stella Choi, a lovely woman cursed with flat, straight hair living in the time of big, bouncy haired Pamela Anderson and her similarly tressed ilk.
Choi was covetous of the curls, and spent tons of dough on hair curling items that burned her hair and/or neck when trying to recreate the volume-ized looks taunting her at every turn in fashion magazines and television shows.
Countless hours were wasted as Stella’s straight hair would always slip off the brush and fly around her face when she used her blow dryer. Her hair dream was lost. Instead, plain ponytails became poor Stella's default lame hairstyle.
Stella also helped her family run a beauty supply business, and she soon discovered she was not alone, and that other women experienced the same bad luck in styling their hair.
Women with straight and curly hair alike all complained that their hair never stayed on the brush, or it flew around their head like a tornado.
Stella searched high and low for that “perfect blow out brush” only to find that it did not exist. All blow out brushes were the same: round-shaped with bristles. only brush that holds your hair in place during even the most intense blow dry.
The proverbial light bulb went off, and another American success story was born: The Parlay Brush was invented out of desperation and need and features a revolutionary vented 'clamp' which keeps the hair wrapped around the brush instead of slipping, tangling about.
Hair comes perfectly curled, full of bounce and body. Stella then made her Parlay Brush available in four sizes for different hair lengths and textures.
The smaller sizes create curl and volume, while the larger sizes straighten hair. Parlay’s Purple Brush is the only brush that can easily achieve the salon-perfect blow out at home.
Parlay hairbrushes are also packaged in a clear plastic container, but they also give customers a “green option.”
At www.parlaybrush.com you can elect to order a Parlay hairbrush without the plastic packaging and they will deduct $1.00 from the purchase price. Look for the Go Green alternative on the SHOP page to participate.
That sum will be donated to American Forests, who will plant a tree in most needed places. American Forests is a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring forest ecosystems by planting trees.
"Planting trees in the right places for the right reasons is the best dollar-for-dollar investment you can make to improve our environment," says Choi.
Instructions for the "look":
Wash and blow-dry your hair until it is almost dry. Divide hair into sections to blow dry small section at a time. Working with small sections will result in precise and quick blowout (Do NOT skip this step).Grab a section of hair near the roots with the clamp.
Pull the brush through hair as you blow dry, pointing the nozzle downward to prevent frizz. When you reach the end, roll the brush up towards the roots and continue to blow dry.
Once the section of the hair is completely dry, blast it with the cool air from you dryer to “lock in” the style. Release the section of hair and repeat.
Enjoy your fabulous hair.
It seems the only way America is going to get out of this horrendous financial mess is for enterprising people to seize and act upon their great ideas, and manufacture kick-ass products stateside that the whole world will want.
The Parlay Brush Co. was born from Stella's frustration, coveting that big sexy hair look. In the process she created a viable new American business dedicated to designing innovative hairbrushes to suit specific needs.
Businesswoman Stella Choi is part of the back-to-basics movement that creates economic opportunity and fills consumer needs with value and performance-based product.
