Spirits of the Season 2013: Zoku Ice Balls for the holidays

Spirits of the Season 2013 will bring you the hottest new drink making accessories, recipes, spirits and wines from all across the globe!

Throw a curve ball at your next party!

Meet Zoku® Ice Ball, a new patent-pending ice mold that lets you savor your favorite iced drinks on the rocks without diluting the flavor. Enjoy whiskey, a margarita or lemonade more with the Ice Ball’s 2.4-inch diameter sphere of ice.

It’s better than using multiple ice cubes because it melts at a very slow, even rate in your glass.

To use, just fill with water through the hole on the top of the food-safe silicone mold, and then place in the freezer. Once it's frozen, pull the halves apart to reveal the ice sphere. There is no need to rinse it under water first. When you push on the bottom of the flexible mold, the ice ball pops up, ready for beverage service.

Best part outside of the amazing visual the ball offers? It is BPA and phthalate free. And at $16.95 for a set of two, it makes a fabulous affordable gift. Available November 2013.

In 2013, Zoku published The Art of Slush, a beautifully-designed recipe book for creating the best slushies and more. For more information, visit www.zokuhome.com.

Here's a fantastic "adults only" recipe from Art of Slush to check out:

Beautifully designed in red and white, the Zoku® Ice Ball is a snap to use. Just fill with water through the hole on the top of the food-safe silicone mold, and then place in the freezer.

Once it’s frozen, just pull the halves apart to reveal the perfectly formed ice sphere. There is no need to rinse it under water first. When you push on the bottom of the flexible mold, the ice ball pops up, ready for beverage service. The resulting crystal clear ball is gorgeous!

Demonstrating the attention to detail for which Zoku® is known, the hole at the top is specially designed to make it easy to fill with just the right amount. If you accidentally overfill it, you can tip it over to release the excess water only, without disturbing the liquid needed for the full ice sphere. A silicone band in the middle of the closed unit makes it more comfortable to use when frozen. The Ice Ball also adds visual appeal to a beverage, making it cool in more ways than one.

The Zoku® Ice Ball comes in a stackable set of two. Taking up minimal space in the freezer, each unit is just 2.75 inches tall and 3.6 inches diameter.
