EBA Posture Shirt a boon for writers, MS sufferers, athletes, seniors
By April MacIntyre Apr 6, 2011, 17:59 GMT

Below is a dramatic illustration of how the shirt worked on an actual patient of Dr. Craig Morgan, M.D. (Morgan is the orthopedic surgeon that Major League Baseball pitcher Curt Schilling credits for saving his career)
Writers, office workers, chronic television watchers (or all three, like me!) and those suffering from posture issues, and who may have a relative who has Dowager's Hump or Multiple Sclerosis need to check out the Posture Shirt.
The new Evidence Based Apparel (EBA) Posture Shirt is a high tech undergarment (not shapewear) created by Bill Schultz to help ease his lower back pain. Schultz collaborated with a physician to make a target garment that has Velcro pulls in key areas that would follow a physical therapist's taping.
This Made in the USA, scientifically-tested Posture Shirt from EBA is a corrective undergarment (or can be worn as outerwear), think Spanx for the spine and the skeleton. An added benefit is that it does help pull in the tummy too.
What I also loved about this shirt is that it's the most thoughtful gift to give an elderly parent or senior in the family who needs support with their posture.
The results are nothing short of amazing, and for someone who spends more time over a laptop writing than anything else, now a godsend for keeping posture straight and shoulders from turning in and downward, as writers tend to do when banging out their work hunched over a desk on a daily basis. I was impressed at the immediate feeling of support and well being it gave me, and I wear it as I do my daily writing in the office.
Back pain afflicts so many people, with nine out of ten adults experiencing some back pain at some point in their life. Working people especially: Five out of ten working adults have back pain all the time. In the U.S., acute lower back pain is the fifth most common reason for physician visits. For many sufferers, surgery is often presented as the only effective option. But exercise, daily stretching and wearing corrective garments like the Posture Shirt can save you from going under the knife.
The EBA Posture Shirt immediately corrects bad posture and increases mobility. It can retrain the body’s connective tissue to eliminate pain. This item is not suck-in shapewear, and it is not a compression shirt. It is designed to alleviate pain thereby increasing mobility. The design of this shirt tilts the scapula to generate optimal Glenhumeral (shoulder) mechanics. It corrects tilting kyphotic (rounded-forward) shoulders as it reduces strain on shoulder rotator cuff muscles and increases oxygen intake and outtake.
When you try it on, it will bring your head back to reduce aches and pains in the neck, shoulders and lower back. This action decreases muscle tension and fatigue in the neck, shoulders and lower back. It's immediate relief.
Below is a dramatic illustration of how the shirt worked on an actual patient of Dr. Craig Morgan, M.D.
The patient below suffered from severe arthritis. Dr. Morgan recommended the patient use the same Posture Shirt that I tried out to correct his condition rather than undergo surgery. (Morgan is the orthopedic surgeon that Major League Baseball pitcher Curt Schilling credits for saving his career).

Dr. Morgan is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Society for Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, The International Society of Arthroscopy and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, The American Shoulder and Elbow Society, The Philadelphia Orthopaedic Society and the Philadelphia Orthopaedic Society Sports Medicine Society.
(The depicted Posture Shirt seen in the video on the MS patient is an S3 model Posture Shirt with velcro, specifically for severe cases. The basic Posture shirt that I tried works without Velcro fasteners.)
