Pura Stainless was created to provide families with toxin-free, durable, and cost effective alternatives to bottled water and the petroleum-based (ie plastic) reusable bottles and food storage containers.
A small American business has created a revolutionary line of baby bottles (toddler and grown ups too) of pure stainless steel, free of all plastics that has been recognized by a European architectural design publishing house as a cutting-edge example innovation in children's products.
Pura Stainless was created to provide families with toxin-free, durable, and cost effective alternatives to bottled water and the petroleum-based (ie plastic) reusable bottles and food storage containers.
Their infant, toddler, and adult product lines are not only the safest in the world but they have won an array of global awards and accolades.

The stylish line eliminates the toxin-laden plastic water bottles that create massive waste problems, and even after recycling, the chemicals leech into the water.
All Pura bottles are crafted from #304, also known as 18/8, food-grade stainless steel.
Known for its resistance to corrosion and staining, and antibacterial properties, it is perfectly suited for use as a beverage container. In fact, many commercial food transport, storage and preparation products are made of #304 stainless steel due to these properties. And because stainless steel does not react with acidic foods or beverages, it will not affect the flavor of your beverage. The greatest single benefit of #304 stainless steel is the simple fact that it does not require funky chemical-laden liners or internal coatings.
Cheap stainless steel bottles are made from inferior grades of stainless steel such as #201, #202, #301, Chinese domestic #304 or bottles with an unspecified alloy. Many of the inexpensive stainless steel bottles are made from these inferior grades of stainless which typically use manganese as a substitute for nickel. None of these cheaper stainless steels are certified as food grade stainless.
Pura is proud to have been selected as one of the TOP 50 Small Businesses in the USA for 2009 by Intuit and Working Mother Magazine chose Pura as the Best Family Eco Style Company in March 2010. A European architectural design publishing house has chosen the Kiki line as a cutting-edge example of innovation in children's products and will feature the product in a book to be published in 2010.
Pura bottles are non-toxic and truly 100% BPA-free. All bottles, components, and accessories are independently tested by a leading global testing lab and certified to have no detectable levels of Bisphenol-a (BPA), lead, phthalates or nitrosamines. Bottles that are either made from plastic or use plastic caps, sip spouts, or travel covers cannot make this claim as virtually all plastics have some level of BPA which will show up in independent testing.
All Pura products feature stainless steel lids, caps and/or infant nipple/spout collars in combination with medical grade silicone so the contents of the bottle are never in contact with plastic and therefore there is zero chance of ingesting BPA or other petroleum-derived toxins.
Pura vented nipples are made of the highest-quality silicone also referred to as "medical-grade" silicone with no added chemicals and are plastic-free. Silicone, which is non-toxic, is made from silica, the most common constituent of sand.

All Pura products meet or exceed all relevant FDA requirements and they meet or exceed the more stringent Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) guidelines and the European Commission Directive 2002/72/EC.
Pura's patent pending Kiki infant bottles can be converted into a spill-proof toddler sippy bottle - the toddler cup can be converted into an infant bottle just by swapping the nipple and spouts.
Pura's Kiki line features a 100% plastic free lid. The total elimination of plastic means that you no longer need to worry about trace levels of BPA and/or the out-gassing of petroleum by-products when scuffed, chewed or used with warm liquids. The #304 stainless steel collars in combination with medical grade silicone nipples and sip spouts represent a new standard in modern feeding systems.
Pura electro-polishes the Kiki infant and toddler bottles, sandblasting all interior surfaces. This creates an ultra smooth surface that aids in cleaning. Pura stainless components come with a limited lifetime warranty.
Their Kiki infant and toddler line also feature a wide neck as this design has been proven to support breast feeding and, when combined with the vented Pura silicone nipples and sip spouts, help prevent colic and the swallowing of air.

How to Clean Your Pura Stainless Steel Bottle
Different stainless objects (dinnerware, appliances, furniture, etc) require different cleaning methods.
Eventually even stainless steel will show signs of aging if uncared for. Despite being extremely durable, there are some things that don’t mix with stainless steel. One of those is bleach, so do not apply bleach to your stainless steel bottle. Chlorine (which is found in bleach) can stain and corrode stainless steel, which can result in discoloration.
In most cases, warm water and mild dish soap will do the trick. Just mix a small amount of dish soap with warm water, then dip your Pura bottle in and slosh it around, or soak if caked on goo is present, using a kitchen brush if needed to gently scrub the inside (or outside) of the bottle.
Regarding dishwashers, Pura does not recommend cleaning your lid, or painted Pura Stainless bottle, in the dishwasher. The high-pressure jets can force water into the cap (between the stainless steel and plastic part) and the heat can potentially damage the paint on the bottle.
